Prime Road Power Public Company Limited (PRIME) is pleased to announce the formal opening of the first phase of its aquaculture solar power plant in Taiwan! The opening ceremony was held on-site in Xidong Section, Tainan City on 10th February 2023. This auspicious event was presided over by Mr. Somprasong Panjalak, CEO, Mr. Piroon Shinawatra, CFO and Mr Surachet Chaipatamanont (CSRO).
The facility achieved commercial operations on 30th December 2022 and has a installed capacity of 3.92mw. This project is the first aquaculture solar power plant in Tainan, one of many to come that will be developed by PRIME.
Mr Huang Wei-Che, the honourable mayor of Tainan officiated this ceremony and in attendance was more than 70 local officials, construction partners and executives and analysts from Asia Plus Securities, Globlex Securities, Krungsri Securities and L&H Securities.
The project utilized an approximate 4 hectares of land with an investment cost of approximately THB231m. Electricity generated from this power plant is sold to the Taiwan Power Company (“Taipower”) under the Bureau of Energy. The power generated by this power plant will provide an additional green energy of 5.26million kWh per annum and will reduce CO2 emissions by 2,249.22 metric tons per annum.
This project is developed in cooperation with KWE Corporation and Taiyen Green Energy whom carried out the necessary works at the site including the supply of Taiwan made equipment and fishery management systems.
The 2nd and 3rd phase of this project is located in a nearby area with an installed capacity of 6.98mw. These phases are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023. With the completion of these phases 2 and 3, Prime Road Power will be the largest aquaculture solar power producer in Tainan City. The total aggregate installed capacity of 10.90mw will generate an approximate revenue of 69.07million New Taiwan Dollar which is roughly equivalent to THB78.08m.
As of the end of 2022, PRIME has successfully commercially completed and operates an aggregate of 20.49mw in Taiwan with substantial plans in hand for 2023 and 2024.
